Looks like an effective offense, but is there a pass to the high post and if so, what are the options once given to the high post?

biggest knock on this set is, regardless what shot u get, the defense will always have the advantage on the board

  8. mtccoach 12 November 2011 at 11:48 am Permalink

Why when they showed the game, the wing players never cut? You’re showing a motion offense with the wing players cutting, but in the game they stay still and you throw a skip pass.

ls this offense to create the miss match?

  16. meowXIII 12 November 2011 at 2:39 pm Permalink

    triangle offense

  17. theclefe 12 November 2011 at 3:39 pm Permalink

The game footage is a more complicated variation of the play it seems. You can see the actions of the 5 being done by two players depending on where the ball is on the perimeter and the baseline movements are essentially the same. What is diagrammed is the basic movements of the play, which is sufficient for the youth level.

I’ve used this offensive with my youth team and it really works well at opening ope the middle for scoring options.

Other coaches see we are running the curl and actually tell there players to anticipate the corner pass. We go straight inside and usually get an open shot.

Once I can get my players confident driving through the zone, we will also be able to score on the ball reversal.

Woman coaches are nothing…basketball is just not for them.

  20. sgtliam10 12 November 2011 at 5:17 pm Permalink

    @speeron LOL

  21. Herdfan4life1976 12 November 2011 at 5:27 pm Permalink

Yeah, I don’t get why the actual game footage doesn’t match the what she was showing. I can see how this would drag the bottom defender out and open up the short corner if the opponent hasn’t worked on bumping down.

what the hell, who unlocked the kitchen and let these women out

  24. katiemarieworkman 12 November 2011 at 6:26 pm Permalink

We have motion but we run it different our way seems to work better.

  25. rheaperez 12 November 2011 at 7:14 pm Permalink

haha the game time footage is so random. isn’t there any footage of the play or does it just not work?

  26. theboywhocriedswag 12 November 2011 at 8:13 pm Permalink

@eylookasqurrel i don’t mean to be cynical, but if i’m ethiopian…obviously i could never be come ethiopian and even if i could that would be a long time.time is also one variable that your dreams depend on

  27. nikmagkias 12 November 2011 at 9:07 pm Permalink

Simplistic offensive play…Plus, the player on the side post has no eye contact with the basket when taking the ball. since he has his back turned he is not a danger to defence.

@laker000 It relies a lot on screening so would probably work best against a man to man. However it would also be effective against a shifting zone.

  33. laker000 12 November 2011 at 11:59 pm Permalink

is this offense against a zone defense or man to man?

i cant believe i used this play in highschool ALOT!! not very effective when its constantly used.. besides, every school uses this an couches screw it up by tryin to “mix it up”

  36. hmartincalle 13 November 2011 at 1:10 am Permalink

I can’t believe you ripped this off from the video of Yuba City’s coach. You should take this down and do your own stuff. Shame on you. You’re a fake.

  37. GeraldineMunchkin 13 November 2011 at 1:22 am Permalink

my gosh, this actually works o.o my teammates and i did this during our game, because i told them about during practice and we scored a point!! I <3 this thing :)

  38. nuthman18 13 November 2011 at 1:57 am Permalink

    thanks man

  39. eylookasqurrel 13 November 2011 at 2:07 am Permalink

Practice then. Hard work and believing in yourself will get you wherever you want to be.

  40. punishyomachine 13 November 2011 at 2:51 am Permalink

We call this combination “merry-go-round” in our team. But I think this play is not very useful when you don’t have good perimeter shooter who threatens from outside. Otherwise defense just steps inside and blocks.

  41. nuthman18 13 November 2011 at 3:36 am Permalink

man i’d do anything to get recruited by UCLA after finishing high school

  42. stefanswe 13 November 2011 at 3:51 am Permalink

Well, you’re right, they have no safety. But an easy thing to teach is for the weak side wing to fill the middle spot when the second cutter cuts

  43. yeabo100 13 November 2011 at 4:16 am Permalink

the second section sucks if he gets blocked their srewed coz 3 out of the 5 players are out of positons and off balance to get back quick enough to defend

  44. doeboyfresh09 13 November 2011 at 4:18 am Permalink

Used by UCLA…blasted by NOVA!! CHEYA

  45. SamyProductions 13 November 2011 at 4:24 am Permalink

good play, but the thing is this is offen refered to as man on man. I think you should make tips on the 2 three zone because most offen those players at the post wont be open, theyll be blocked

  46. zzlb 13 November 2011 at 4:32 am Permalink

Its most effective in breaking man to man defense.

  47. chumpy209 13 November 2011 at 4:43 am Permalink

We do this in my team.

  48. smoshsupporter1 13 November 2011 at 5:02 am Permalink
